Exotic animals as pets
There are many issues pertaining to the domestication of the exotic animals. Here is a list of animals that were ?adopted? as pets: Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Gerbils, African Dormice, Prairie Dog, Flying Squirrels, Chinchillas, Ferrets, Raccoons, Hedgehogs, Pot-Bellied Pig, Wildcat, Iguana, Frogs, Corn Snake, Yellow Mud Turtles, Scorpions, Tarantula. These hairy and large spiders are surprisingly kept as pets! Their bites are of course, deadly to humans.
In nature, flying squirrels are seldom seen because of their nocturnal habits and high dwelling places. They nest, often many together, in holes in trees. They feed on a variety of plant matter, as well as on insects. You must check the legality of keeping southern flying squirrels as pets as the laws vary in different states, provinces, and countries.
